The Giant African Tree: The Akpu Tree

The Akpu Tree is a tree in Africa; it is a giant tree that grows bigger than other trees around. While I grew up in my hometown, I have always known that Akpu Tree grows large and big and spreads forth it branches far and wide to cover a large piece of land. When I was young, I had failed to understand why this tree is called the Akpu Tree by my people. Anyway, I want to take you through this wonderful giant tree: The Akpu Tree. This tree is big and grows taller than other trees around it. It lasts for long and is the source of good furniture and wood. While on a visit to my cousin’s house in Enugu Ezike, Nigeria, I saw the biggest and tallest tree have seen in my entire life. The Wonders of Bitter Leaf

This is a vegetable or shrub that is bitter as the name indicates. This vegetable or shrub is used by Nigerians and other parts of Africa for different purposes. For the Igbo people of Nigeria, bitter leaf serves as a source of roughages and vegetable, bitter leaf also serves as a source of drug to relieve stomach ache and other related illnesses. This shrub grows well anywhere and in any condition. Bitter leaf doesn’t need much attention and care. The only thing needful of a planter is to get a stick of the bitter leaf and plant the shrub anywhere, the bitter leaf will grow. It doesn’t require much watering or the use of manure, but it would be better for the plant if the planter waters it in the area where water is a scarce commodity; it will be necessary also if the planter looks for manure to use on the plant.
