Many people do not feel comfortable any time they are working in a place controlled by a tough, difficult boss. They get to be apprehensive any day they are at work for this reason. Every day you come to work, there is always a high probability of a shouting or a quick, sharp snap at you. This often makes you feel uncomfortable in your work places. Most times, people are overjoyed in securing a new job, and this is more felt when the person has been unemployed for quite some time. The joy is usually boundless and far reaching. However, the joy tends to die down when the newly employed person gets to discovers that there are problems in the job process or in the human relationship of people there. It is often noted that the good salary a person must have felt great to be offered at the point of interview and entry begins to make him sad. The best action to undertake in a bad working place and condition is to strategize how to deal with it. And often the major factor people encount...

HOW TO OVERCOME SET UPS IN NIGERIAN GAY COMMUNITY

Image
Set up is a means of framing someone by putting up blame on this individual based on the severity or level of abhorrence of the crime committed. This act is so inhumane, disheartening and depression-oriented. In as much as the culprit(s) find no faults in this act, we can liken this to the existing laws against same-sex marriage in the country. There is no doubt that of recent times, the rate of set up in the GAY COMMUNITY has increased tremendously. A lot of factors are considered to be responsible for this inhumane act. However, in this context, we shall discuss possible factors and correctional approach with which the incremental curve of set up rate could be flattened. To achieve a set up free community in the country, we need to observe the following: ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN POLITICS : Yes, someone might ask, what does politics have to do with set-up? Well, I must tell you that laws guiding this nation were enacted by those in politics/power. The GAY COMMUNITY members should...

THE FIRST BLACK VICE CHANCELLOR IN BRITAIN

Image
Professor Charles Egbu, a British Nigerian, was recently made the Vice Chancellor of Leeds Trinity University. He studied in Britain during his undergraduate days and his postgraduate days. Since he started his studies and began to work at the university as a young man he has continually developed himself and excelled in his career. He had his first degree in Quantity Surveying from Leeds Trinity University, a first class honor degree. He moved on to acquire a PhD degree from the University of Salford in the field of Construction Management. This can be seen as that he worked his way through his academic achievement and success. Through his period as an academic scholar, he served in a number of respected positions like as the Dean of School of the Built Environment and Architecture in London South Bank University, and a whole lot of other positions. He hails from Idemili Local Government in Anambra State and has lived most of his life in Britain. He has been appointed as the V...

PERSONAL THOUGHTS ABOUT CHIEF SAM MADUKA ENTREPRENEURIAL UNIVERSITY, EKWEGBE, NSUKKA

Image
Sam Maduka, CEO of Peace Mass Transit recently bought a large area of land in Ekwegbe, Nsukka area. The land is so large that it can be stated to be at least half the size of Nsukka campus of the University of Nigeria or even at the same size. The land according to a person close to me is so large that if you are told to use catapult to reach its limit you cannot do it. This is the beauty of capitalism, and the tragedy as well; a man is buying a land big enough to house a village and some persons cannot boast of a land to call their own. It is laudable that Chief Maduka intends to build an entrepreneurial university on the land, the first of its kind in Nigeria. However, what happened to a free trade zone or an industrial estate or a tech hub or an auto producing estate? All these things are not left for the government alone. And do not come and tell me I should not tell a man how to spend his money? Entrepreneurial university is good, but then what about the real actions and exp...

INTERSTATE MOVEMENT RESUMES: PEACE MASS TRANSIT AND IFESINACHI PROPOSES CHEAPER FARES

Image
The Federal Government on the 1st of July mandated that there could be interstate movement among the states of the federation. This is in accordance with the gradual unlocking of the country which they had started in the first week of May. If it could be recalled, then it would be stated that one of the actions that was not taken is allowance of interstate movement. There was movement within states immediately after the lockdown, but no movement outside the state.  On the 27th of April, Buhari made a speech calling for the unlocking of the country on the 4th of May, and it happened as he said, even though most people were not sure of it yet. Some Nigerians started work on that day and there was gradual movement and easing of lockdown. However, most Nigerians were not comfortable with the interstate lockdown. They wanted to be traveling, and as at that they did not allow it hinder them, they still travelled, albeit illegally.  On the 1st of June, movement opened in ...

TESLA: A COMPANY BUILT ON PASSION, SUCCESS AND PROFIT

Image
Tesla is now worth more than Toyota, Disney and Coke. This is an achievement worth celebrating as no one could really tell what the success rate of Tesla would be when they started. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, began the company as usual on the basis of ideas and dreams. Of course, ideas and dreams remain Paramount in the establishment and success of a company.  Elon Musk, whose story is so widely told and known, is an African by birth and European by descent. He was born and raised in South Africa where he was indifferent to the affairs of the country. Therefore in his late teens, he moved out of SA to Canada before he relocated to the United States of America. This is where most of his dreams came to him and materialized when he was still a student in the university and a fresh graduate.  Elon Musk worked first on PayPal, the topmost finance tech app used for payment before he sold the idea and company and moved on to loftier aspirations. It is in the second deca...

Ms. Maduafokwa, the Highest in UTME/JAMB 2020, awarded 16 million naira

Image
The UTME exam is an exam done annually for those who wish to get admitted into the tertiary institutions, ranging from the Universities to the colleges of education. Every year it has been carried out except in 1996 when most of the universities in Nigeria were on strike. And to gainfully get admission is to score high in the exam and do well in the different screening processes of different schools. To get admitted into a tertiary institution, one must first of all pass the exam and with a very good score, at least. In this year, 2020, the registration was done in a fast way and then the examination held in March in a hurdle free process. Soon enough, the results were released before the outbreak of Coronavirus and the halt of all educational processes. A little after this, the JAMB body met to deliberate on the cut off mark and look at the general performance. It was at this point that the top 13 candidates in the examination were discovered.  The top 13 candidates we...
