Review of Phyno’s “Connect”

Although this review is coming late, I still have to review this song that is becoming more popular everyday. This is a slow and dull song from Phyno; the slowest and perhaps—dullest of his songs that I have ever heard. The rhythm and the tempo of the song is not that of the Phyno we know. Phyno chose a different beat, rhythm and tempo. It is a calm song, but it is not danceable; probably a song for money eaters. Lol.
And to talk of the lyrics, he is not saying anything that meaningful; it is the same lines and words that our Nigerian musicians blast into our ears all the time. Yes. Yes. Hard work is good, it brings success—and connect …, but this theme has become a single story in our music industry.
According to the Phyno’s fans and lovers of Nigerian music, they insist that the song is good. This song is fast getting between the lips of young Nigerians. It has its flaws, but it is one of the good songs from the master Igbo rapper, Phyno Fino.
