The Wonders of Bitter Kola




Bitter Kola is a small seed fruit, which can be chewed and swallowed. It is bitter in the mouth. It is often taken by the elderly in the society, but it is also taken by the young people who know its relevance. This bitter kola helps humans in many ways; it is medicinal and it is affordable. When the pandemic of Ebola came, people resorted to bitter kola to cure it notwithstanding that it was false. Why don’t we take it before it comes hanging on our neck?
 This bitter kola contains kolaviron, flavonoids-apeigenin, saponins, tannins, and resins. And because of the many medicinal value of this bitter kola, it is often used by traditional doctors.
Medicinal Values:
1.      Jaundice/Hepatitis: The seed is an ingredient in the preparation for the cure for Jaundice/Hepatitis. Crush 10 seeds and soak in one beer bottle of water. Dosage is 4 tablespoonfuls thrice daily.
2.      Impotence: Boil the root with some garlic and ginger and allow to stand for 12 hours. Dosage is ½ a glass thrice daily.
3.      Anti-Poison: For snake bites and food poison or poison of any kind, chew two bitter kola seeds on an empty stomach every night.
