Treatment of Shingles
There is no cure for shingles but treatment may
shorten the length of the illness and prevent complications. Shingles
treatments include: Antiviral medicine to reduce the duration of the shingles
and pain medicine to relieve long term
pain.
Once a doctor a notices the skin disease, shingles,
he starts treatment with antiviral drugs within the first three days. So, the
victim has lower chances of having later problem such as postherpetic neuralagia. A patient should ask the doctor to
prescribe effective antiviral drugs to at least assist in reducing the pain.
Antibiotics should be prescribed also to avoid contamination of the blisters. Pain
medicines should be prescribed too, because of the pain that comes with the
shingles.
For people who are affected by this shingles but do
not have enough time to go to the hospital, when visiting a pharmacist near to
your area, ask for antiviral, antibiotic and pain drugs. Remember, we had a
blog post about this shingles the last time. Shingles are like rash, but are
bigger blisters filled with fluid. They occur en masse at one side of the body,
on the face, on the stomach or on the chest. This shingles causes pain and it
is contaminable.
